A Few Questions Answered

When does ordering close? The order window for this first circle closes Friday, March 20. This gives members the full four weeks to settle in before the April 25 Book Circle.

Seats are limited to 20. Once the circle is full, enrollment closes regardless of date.

Any remaining seats after March 20 are still available, though your reading window will be shorter. Once the following month's book is announced, the current circle closes entirely.

When do shipments arrive? Boxes ship the week of March 23 and typically arrive within 5 days. Most members can expect their box by March 27–28, leaving a full four weeks before the April 25 Book Circle.

Is this a subscription? Sugarbound Society is a membership, not a subscription. That distinction is intentional. You're not signing up for an automated service, you're joining a circle. Monthly members participate on a flexible basis, subject to availability. Annual Members hold a guaranteed seat for the full reading year. Both pathways are described in the Membership Options above.

How do we gather for the Book Circle? The monthly Book Circle is held virtually via Microsoft Teams on the fourth Saturday of each month. Beyond the monthly gathering, members also have access to an ongoing Sugarbound community space within Teams, a place to share reflections, connect between circles, and stay close to the reading rhythm. Teams is free to join and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile. A link and simple setup instructions will be sent to members ahead of their first gathering.

Are the treats plant-based? Yes. All edible pairings are crafted by Tastease, a plant-based dessert company rooted in joy, memory, and care. Each month's treats are small-batch and designed to complement the book's theme and flavor profile. If you have specific allergen concerns, please reach out to us at hello@sugarboundsociety.com before ordering.

Can I give this as a gift? What a generous thing to consider. For this first circle, gifting is available — simply place the order using your own information and include a note at checkout with the recipient's name, mailing address, and any message you'd like included. We'll make sure it arrives ready to be received. If you have questions about gifting, reach out to us directly at hello@sugarboundsociety.com

What condition are the books in? Books included in the Sugarbound box are always new. In some months, we source remainder copies to keep the cost of membership within reach. A remainder copy is simply a new book that didn't sell through traditional retail channels — the story inside is complete and untouched. We'd rather more people have a seat at the table.
